Mega Sports Complex proposed on NIT Swimming Pool on North Ambazhari Road

Nagpur: Sports is an essential and an integral part in the wholesome development of our children and the future citizens of the country. The present government is finally living up to some of its promises and is clearing all the pending projects of sports complexes. While a Mega Sports Complex equipped with a big swimming complex is being constructed at Sakardhara area, a Mega Sports Complex is slated to come up at the spot which now hosts the NIT Swimming Pool on the North Ambazhari road.

While addressing the media personnel, the Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust Shyam Wardhane said that the proposed Mega Sports Complex will be equipped for many kinds of indoor games. Shyam Wardhane claimed that the completion of this sports complex will take at least a year to get completed.

However, strong protests have already started against this move by the NIT.

The residents living near the Swimming Pool are looking at the proposed project with doubts and suspicion and have started registering their protest against this project.

While allaying the fears of the citizens, NIT Chairman Shyam Wardhane claimed that this Swimming Pool is an object of pride for the NIT and went on to assure the citizens that no kind of commercial activity will be allowed in this proposed project.

He added that NIT is keen on creating a space to boost the sports activity in the city. Shyam Wardhane said that from coming September 1, 2015, the Swimming Pool will remain closed for a period of one year. However, he went on to assure the concerned citizens that while undertaking the construction work, the swimming pool will not even be touched.
