Mega Investors’ meet Advantage Vidarbha starts in Nagpur raising hope for development

Nagpur News: The mega industry conclave ‘Advantage Vidarbha’ kick started on today morning at Hotel Centre Point in Nagpur. The Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan inaugurated the event being dubbed as the major investor’s meet to promote industrial projects in Vidarbha.

The inaugural ceremony saw many corporate czars including Singhania of Raymonds, Sajjan Jindal of Jindal Steel and Rajeev Vaishnav of NASSCOM.from diversified industrial sectors.

Later in the afternoon Chairman of Tata Sons Cyrus Mistry arrived at the Venue.

In his inaugural speech Hon’ble CM’s declared that this would be an annual event, however CM said that similar event would be organized in other parts of the State too .

On the first day itself, a staggering investment of around Rs14,000 crore is likely to be channeled into the region by signing memoranda of understanding with various industry houses – Ambuja Cement, M/s Amba Iron, M/s Hindalco, M/s Prithvi Ferro and others.

Guardian minister of Nagpur district, Shivajirao Moghe told mediapersons here on Friday that participation of corporate titans would provide much needed traction for hefty investment in the development- starved Vidarbha region.

Among others who attended are  Union heavy industries minister, Praful Patel, agriculture minister, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, marketing minister, Harshavardhan Patil and textile minister, Naseem Khan.

Deputy chief minister, Ajit Pawar would also attend the concluding function on February 26.

Near about 350 delegates including 75-100 pan-Vidarbha and pan-Maharashtra delegates are likely to attend the conclave. The delegates would be taken for a round trip to Mihan and Butibori on both the days.
