Nagpur: The second meeting of the present Standing Committee presided over by Chairman Ramesh Shingare was held on Monday. The agenda included only three subjects of which two concerned with construction of cement roads at the cost Rs 76 lakh and an RCC-drainage underground pipeline. Since the work had no provision in Revised Budget the files were sent back to concerned department fresh directives were issued to include the work in next financial year. Apart from this work the third subject was in connection with appointment of PMC.

The subject was not only sent back to concerned department but the Chairman issued directions to submit reports in the next meeting regarding the number of PMC appointments during the year 2013-14 and year 2014-15 and the positive outcome if any along with efficiency of concerned engineers. The move was aimed at the need for appointing PMC for every work. Similarly, directives were issued to prepare policy for appointing PMC and submit it in the next meeting of Standing Committee. However, no details of revenue income and expenditure were sought in the vital meeting held just a day before the end of financial year, thanks to unawareness of the Chairman.

The Chairman allegedly tried to mislead members on the amount of Rs 156 crore State fund that was supposed to be received by today. He just avoided the subject by saying ‘digging out’ the ground reality. The Chairman Shingare also expressed his inability to comment on further progress on the issue of Reliance Jio mess that had created turmoil in General Body Meeting.

The Standing Committee chief also allegedly found an escape route and failed to give any information on irregularities in housing complex scheme under NMC’s Ashi Nagar Zonal Office. Shingare expressed his desire for fresh survey as the earlier BPL survey had deprived several beneficiaries in the list. On the question raised by Shiv Sena over membership of Committee, the Chairman said that as of now Jagatram Sinha was present in the meeting on behalf of the party.Whenever a decision comes from court then Kishore Kumeria will attend the meeting in the form of new member. He further said that the City Shiv Sena President Satish Harde had conveyed him the party supremo Uddhav Thackeray’s displeasure over partymen’s tantrums in NMC and had even said that it will be better if no Sena nominee is member of Standing Committee.
