Medical and awareness camp held at Grace Girls Home, Khaparkheda

Nagpur: A medical and awareness camp was recently organised at Grace Girls Home in Khaparkheda regarding personal hygiene and wellness of the girls. Total 35 girls participated in the programme. Lodge Vivekananda no.367 continues to strive for the well being of society. This project aimed at making a difference in these girls’ lives.

These girls come from backgrounds which we cannot even think of. They are the ones discarded by their parents – just for being girls. They are also the ones which were rescued within the POCSO act and rehabilitated. The girls who were victims of flesh trade are also welcomed with open arms.

Lodge Vivekananda no.367 took initiative to make a difference and bring smiles to their faces. Dr. Komal Kashikar – Owner of Larisha Ayurveda and
Vice President of the medical vertical BJP came with her team of two doctors – Dr. Kajal and Dr. Madhura.

Dr. Komal explained the do’s and don’ts during the onset of menstruation. The pointers to keep in mind regarding hygiene during these difficult times was also explained to the children. The need to have nutritious food and drink plenty of water was given attention.

The team conducted a health check up for all the girls and their staff members.
Medicines were Rs.5000/- was given to children .

Lodge gave out sanitary napkins worth Rs.1000/-.and nutritious food packets with calorie count of 800 calories worth Rs.1800/-.

Bro. Dr. Vinay Kothari, also checked a few girls and assessed that they require immediate medical intervention. He has agreed to do this treatment free of cost
