Bhatt Sabhagruh (Meeting Hall): 55 per cent work of this Hall has been completed. The initial cost of this project was estimated at Rs 24.92 crore and was to be completed in two years. But due to some hurdles, the work got stalled for a few months. Later, in February 2014 the work again got started and the contractor has been given a time frame to complete the civil work till January 2015. The dispute over security deposit of contractor would be resolved soon in the high-level meeting. It is estimated that the work of electrification and furniture during 2015-16 and the project could be dedicated in the same period.

New Shukrawai Bridge: The first bridge will be operationalized in December 2014. Later, till May 2015 the old bridge will be demolished and the new will be constructed.

Administrative Building: The Mumbai-based company that was given the Rs 26.89 crore contract to complete the delicate furniture work has so far not completed the work despite several time limits. Hence the contract was terminated. The concerned officials had from the beginning objected to tender documents of the terminated contractor. However, the NMC Administration had suppressed the objections and kept the Standing Committee in the dark. But the matter came in open when some changes were made in the tender documents. The Project Officer Prakash Urade was directed to probe the file and submit report in the next meeting. The work order for furniture in the First Floor’s C-Wing at the estimated cost of Rs 22 lakh has been issued and the work has to be finished in 90 days. As soon as the work is completed, the decided departments will be shifted to the Administrative Building.

Cement Road: Following cracks in the cement road, help of Indian Road Congress has been sought for cause of the cracks as well as its report. The company which constructed the cement road has also given a letter of settlement. Soon NMC will take a decision in this regard in the interest of road and citizens as well.

Apart from these projects, the Mayor Pravin Datke directed the officials to complete the Fourth Stage of Pench Project, Malls, Sports Complex, Skating Rink, Badminton Hall, LED lights on Deekshabhoomi Road, and sought action taken report within seven days.
