Nagpur: Even though the 10-day Ganesh festivity is yet to get off the start, the Mayor Pravin Datke and Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, as precautionary measure, on Wednesday inspected the Futala Lake area where immersion of Ganesh idols take place in massive numbers. They reviewed the arrangements and also directed the officials to create artificial ponds at all four sides of the lake for facilitating immersion of idols.
The officials were directed to make sufficient lighting arrangements, Nirmalya Kalash, cleanliness, beautification, ground leveling etc. Desilting, weeding and removing of garbage, waste thrown into the lake was also to be done.
Other officials who accompanied the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner include Chief Engineer Ulhas Debadwar, NIT Superintending Engineer Satish Pasebandh, NMC Accounts Deputy Director Amod Kumbhojkar, Health Officer Dr Pradeep Dasarwar, Executive Engineer Rajesh Bhutkar, and other officials.
