Mayor initiates steps to restart NMC-run Devadia Maternity Home

Mayor Nanda Jichkar, while addressing a meeting of the Standing Committee, has directed the concerned officials to submit fresh proposals for restarting of NMC-run hospitals including Devadia Maternity Home and Hospital in Minimata Nagar, which remained closed since the past few years.

The meeting was also attened by East Nagpur MLA Krishna Khopde, Chairman of Health Committee Manoj Chaple, Vice-Chairman Pramod Kaurati, Slum Development and Housing Committee Chairperson ChetanaTank, Vice-Chairman Vandan Yengatwar, Water Resources Committee Chairman Rajesh Ghodpage, Gandhibag Zone Chairperson Sumedha Deshpande, Additional Commissioner Ravindra Kumbhare, Corporators Pradip Pohane, Anil Gendre, Dharmapal Meshram, Shraddha Pathak, Health Officer Dr Anil Chivane and Dr Pradip Dasarwar, Executive Engineer Naresh Borkar, Assistant Commissioner AshokPatil,SubhashJaydev, Mahesh Dhamecha and others.

The hospitals can be developed like NMC’s Indira Gandhi Multi-speciality Hospital. Such a proposal for Devadia Maternity Home has been submitted by Krishna Khopde. Dr Chivane stated that the proposal for development of hospital in Minimata Nagar has been forwarded under National Urban Health Mission.
