Mayor directs NMC to come out with simple-language posters for awareness on infectious diseases

Mayor Meeting Roag SankramanNagpur: Mayor Pravin Datke on Friday directed the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Administration to come out with simple-language posters to spread awareness on contagious diseases among common people. The Mayor also directed the NMC to hold an exhibition of the posters so that citizens are well apprised about the infectious diseases and their prevention.

The NMC and Association for Research and Training in Basic Science Education are jointly organizing a poster exhibition for awareness on infectious diseases and their prevention. The Mayor, in a meeting held at Panjabrao Deshmulh Memorial Hall of Standing Committee, reviewed the preparations of the poster exhibition. The exhibition will be held at Rashtrabhasha Bhavan, near Andhra Association, North Ambazari Road from January 11 to 17. The meeting discussed every detail of the poster exhibition and its successful organization so that common people in maximum number get benefit and the message on contagious diseases goes to the wider sections of society.

Other dignitaries who attended the meeting include Health Committee Chairman Devendra Meher, Slums Eradication Committee Chairman Sandeep Jadhav, Deputy Director (Health) Dr Milind Ganvir, Health Officer Dr Savita Meshram, Medical Officer Dr Pradeep Dasarwar, Malaria Officer Dr Jaishree Thote, Secretary of Association for Research and Training in Basic Science Education Suresh Agrawal, Director of State Science Education Institute Narayan Joshi, IMM’s Dr A R Ambaikar, Mayo Hospital’s Dr N R Agrawal, GMCH’s Dr S H Golawar, and others.
