Nagpur News: BSP Supremo Mayawati has turned her gaze towards Maharashtra after two years. She will be visiting and touring Nagpur city in February, as part of an effort to broaden the party’s base. BSP, which won 4% of Maharashtra’s votes in the previous general elections, is hoping for better results in 2014. According to party members in the State, the party had won 9.5% votes in Vidarbha.

However, BSP couldn’t keep the same performance up in the State elections just a few months later. The party, which had won more than a dozen seats in the Lok Sabha elections, couldn’t manage even a single seat in the elections for the Vidhan Sabha. Mayawati has scheduled a meet at Kasturchand Park on 17th February, hoping to strengthen her hold in the city and region. She had last visited the state in the year 2011, in order to inaugurate a BSP office in Chembur on 25th June that year.
