Television presenter Mayanti Langer Binny on Thursday sought to put an end to incessant trolls directed at her cricketer husband Stuart Binny, who yielded 32 runs in a single over against the West Indies in the first of two Twenty20 International matches in Florida.
“Taunting me with suicide is shameful. Think of the families that suffer because of this tragedy and you have reduced their plight to a joke,” she posted on Twitter.
“I hope bullying us made you feel better about yourselves, cause otherwise was it really worth it.”
Binny was mocked on social media after the only over he bowled, turned out to be expensive as West Indian opener Evin Lewis smacked him for 32 runs, including five sixes on August 27.
The World T20 champions won the match by a run and subsequently the series 1-0 after the second encounter was abandoned due to rain.
Stuart Binny, son of former selector Roger Binny, has the best ODI figures by an Indian bowler. He achieved the feat during his figures of 6/4 as India beat Bangladesh by 47 runs in 2014.
Binny married Mayanti Langer in 2012.
