Nagpur: A middle aged man’s greed to procure a secret treasure of gold hidden in his land cost him a staggering Rs 5 lakh when he fell into a trap of two tricksters. Cops have booked the two accused and are searching for them.

The two tricksters Naresh Shyamlal Puri (38), resident of Tilak Ward, Khamgaon and Laxman Gondi, resident of Waranga, Butibori, ina well-planned conspiracy brainwashed the victim Yuvraj Ratiram Lichade (54), resident of Mahadula, Koradi and convinced him that a secret treasure of gold has been hidden in the land of his residence. The two accused further told Yuvraj that to dig out the gold treasure some precious ‘Jadi Buti’ (Herbs) will have to be fetched from a place. With these tricky words, the two tricksters demanded Rs 5 lakh to bring the “costly Jadi Buti” for digging out the hidden gold treasure. The accused demanded the amount frequently from Yuvraj. The greed to grab the treasure overcame the sense of Yuvraj and he ultimately parted with the staggering amount. After pocketing Rs 5 lakh from Yuvraj, the two tricksters vanished into thin airs and never showed their faces to waiting Yuvraj. Realising that he is tricked, Yuvraj knocked doors of Koradi Police Station and registered a case against the two accused.

PSI Patle has booked the accused Naresh and Laxman under Sections 420, 511, 34 of IPC and mounted a search to nab them.

However, another report says that the attempt of the two accused to cheat Yuvraj failed as he smelt a rat and approached the police in the nick of time.
