Pune: Sensation prevailed when a man was seen walking around with a severed head on the streets of Pune in Maharashtra in the morning of October 9, 2015.
The accused identified as Ramachandra Chavan aged 60 years allegedly beheaded his 55-year-old wife identified as Sonabai and then walked around with the head until the traffic police stopped him and arrested him.
The video of the man moving with the severed head became viral. In the spine-chilling mobile clip, the accused Chavan was seen wearing a dhoti and kurta, and seen holding the head in one hand and an axe in the other. The video shows two policemen running after him as others on the road gape. The policemen showed presence of mind and quickly covered the head with a cloth.
According to the police Chavan, who works as a watchman, killed his wife with the axe suspecting of her having an affair.
