Nagpur: A 16-year old girl was sedated and exploited sexually by a middle-aged man in Jaripatka area on three different days in her own house. Incidentally, the accused was known to the rape survivor. Cops have booked the pervert accused and launched investigation.
According to the complaint, the accused Manish Neelkanth Gedam (40-45 years), resident of Jagrut Nagar, behind Chandni Beer Bar, Sugat Nagar, used to go to the house of victimised girl. On January 16, 2019, between 11 am and 2 pm, the accused went the house of the 16-year old girl and offered her ‘poha’ spiked with sedatives.
As she ate the spiked poha, she fell unconscious. The accused thereafter raped her. The accused Manish Gedam repeated the heinous crime on February 17 and 18, 2019, with the same modus operandi. When the minor girl realised that she was being exploited sexually by the accused by offering her spiked poha, she registered a case against him with Jaripatka police.
PSI Devkate, acting on the complaint of rape survivor, has booked the accused Manish Gedam under Sections 376(2)(J) of the IPC read with Section 4 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and launched investigations into the matter.
