Man murders wife in Butibori

Nagpur: In a sensational incident, a man murdered his wife in Butibori area on Wednesday night. However, the murder came to light in the morning of Thursday. Frequent domestic skirmishes is believed to behind the brutal murder.

The deceased has been identified as Atisha Shyam Narayan (25). Currently, she was staying with her uncle in Ward No. 1, Butibori, since the past three months. Atisha got married with Shyam Narayan, native of Uttar Pradesh. Four years ago. After marriage, Shyam was working in a steel company in Delhi. The couple has 2-year daughter. Around three months back, quarrel erupted between Atisha and Shyam over some domestic issue. Following the brawl, Atisha came to Nagpur along with her daughter and stayed with uncle in Butibori.

Three days ago, Shyam Narayan came to Butibori from Delhi and started fighting with Atisha. The domestic row took a worse turn on Wednesday night. Around 8 pm, the husband-wife duo again quarrelled over some issue. During the scuffle, Shyam allegedly strangulated Atisha with the help of an odhni and eliminated her. After the killing, the accused Shyam reportedly went absconding. The next morning as the door of the room was shut and the 2-year kid was crying continuously, the nearby residents sensed something wrong. They opened the door forcibly and found Atisha lying on the floor dead. Butibori police were informed about the incident immediately. A team of cops led by PI Hemant Chandewar reached the spot and started investigation.

Police have registered a murder case and launched a search to nab the absconding accused Shyam Narayan.
