Nagpur: In an act to settle score over simmering rivalry, a 60-year-old man attacked a middle-aged man with a sharp-edged weapon and killed him on the spot on Tuesday. Kotwali police have arrested the accused.

According to police, the victim Shailendra Balkrishna Junghare (36), a resident of Dasra Road, Gawlipura, Kotwali, was standing in front of his house around 7.15 pm on Tuesday. At the same time, the accused Suresh Sadhuji Ghongre (60), a resident of same locality, approached him and started a quarrel for settling score over some old dispute.

However, the wordy duel took a worst turn when the accused Suresh suddenly whipped out a sharp-edged weapon and attacked Shailendra causing grievous injuries to him. The complainant Lokesh Kishorerao Pawar (26), also a resident of Dasra Road, was present at the spot with his friend Rajesh Renke when the murderous assault took place.
