Nagpur: In a revenge act, a young boy murdered a middle aged man by smashing his head with wooden rod in Itwari area here on Thursday night. The accused murderer has been booked and being searched by cops.
The deceased Sheikh Javed alias Baba Sheikh Khusru (44), resident of Itwari Dahibazaar, had a tiff with mother of the accused Sheikh Tausif Sheikh Latif (21) over theft of money a few days ago. The stinging words used by the deceased Sheikh Javed during the quarrel did not go down well with the accused Sheikh Tausif and he planned to a revenge act. On Thursday around 10.15 pm, the accused Sheikh Tausif accosted Sheikh Javed under a bridge at Dahibazaar and attacked him with a wooden rod. The accused hit a blow on Sheikh Javed’s head inflicting serious injury. He was taken to Mayo Hospital by nearby people but succumbed to head injury during treatment around 11 pm. Meanwhile, after attacking Sheikh Javed, the accused Sheikh Tausif fled the spot.
Shantinagar PSI N M Thakur, based on a complaint lodged by Soujida Begum Gulam Sheikh, booked the accused under Section 302 of IPC and launched a search to nab him.
