Man killed, son escapes with minor injuries as their mobike hit by a truck in Imambada

A man was killed and his son escaped with minor injuries when the motorcycle they were riding in was rammed by a recklessly driven truck on Monday night. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested.

According police, the victim has been identified as Santosh Bajrang Soundiya (46), resident of Medical Servants Quarters, Nagpur. Santosh, along with his son Rajesh alias Sonu (8), was going to Ajni from Imambada on his motorcycle (MH-49/R 3164) at about 9.40 pm on Monday.  At the same time, the truck (MH-31/CQ 7127) driven rashly by Firoze Sheikh (29), a native of Amgaon Deoli, Hingna, hit Santosh’s motorcycle from behind. The impact resulted in both Santosh and his son Rajesh crashing on the road with intense force. Santosh received serious injuries while his son escaped the crash with some bruises. Both were rushed to GMCH. Santosh succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Rajesh was discharged immediately after receiving treatment.

Imambada PSI Sarode and his team rushed to the accident spot after getting information about the incident. The truck driver Firoze Sheikh was booked under relevant Sections of the IPC and taken into custody.
