Nagpur: In a freak road accident, a young man was killed and his nephew was injured as their bike dashed against road divider and a speeding car hit them in Wadi area on Sunday.
The complainant Suraj Ashok Patil (20), resident of Davlameti, was riding pillion on the motorcycle (MH-40/PQ 0095) of his maternal uncle Golu alias Amit Matey (25) of Isasani, Wanadongri, around 6.45 pm on Sunday. When they reached near 8th Mile, opposite Power House, Golu applied brakes to his bike as a car had suddenly came in front of him. As a result, the motorcycle skidded and dashed against road divider.
Both Suraj and Golu fell on other side of the road. At the same moment, a speeding Maruti Swift car (Mh-31/FC 2207) coming from Waddhamna direction, hit Golu with forceful impact. Golu suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot. Suraj also received injuries.
Wadi PSI Dongre, based on Suraj Patil’s complaint, booked the unidentified car driver under Sections 279, 337, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act. Further probe is on.
