Nagpur: A 52-year old man ended his life in bizarre manner in Ajni area here in the wee hours of Sunday. Bandu Hiraman Sonekar, resident of Plot No. 3, Bajrang Nagar, Ajni, first cut veins of his hand and thereafter hanged himself to the handle of a door with the help of a ‘lungi.’ Bandu chose odd hours to end his life. He woke up at 0300 hours when other family members were asleep and committed suicide.
Sangita, the 44-year old wife of Bandu Sonekar, first noticed her husband hanging to the door handle with a lungi around his neck in the morning. She immediately informed Ajni police about the incident.
PSI S S Bansod has registered a case of accidental death and probing the matter further.
