Man defrauds employer to the tune of Rs 10.16 lakh

Nagpur: A dubious man deceived his employer to the tune of Rs 10.16 lakh by stealing a cheque book and misusing it. The accused fraudster has been booked.

The accused Sumit Babarao Dahikar, resident of Plot No. 5, Sheshnagar, Kharbi Road, was working with the company run by Shrikant Sudhakar Haridas (56) of Dharampeth. Between July 2013 and September 2015, the accused Sumit Dahikar stole company’s cheque book issued by State Bank of India, Dharampeth Branch. After stealing the cheque book, Sumit misused it for withdrawing Rs 10.16 lakh of the company from time to time. Moreover, to cover up his crime, Sumit forged the bank statements by making fictitious changes.

Based on a complaint of Shrikant Haridas and investigation of documents, Sitabuldi PSI Wagh has registered a case against the accused Sumit Dahikar under Sections 408, 420, 465, 467 of IPC. Further probe is underway.
