Nagpur: A middle aged man was crushed to death by a rashly driven truck on a road between Meetha Neem Dargah Square and Gupta Tower in Sitabuldi police area on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified by name Raju only.
The deceased was walking towards Gupta Tower from Meetha Neem Dargah Square around 11.45 pm on Tuesday. Near the Dargah, a rashly driven 14-wheeler truck (MH-40/AK 1580) hit him. As he fell down on the road, he came under the wheels of the truck and died on the spot. The driver of the truck reportedly fled the spot fearing police action.
Sitabuldi PSI Kejgir, based on a complaint lodged by police constable Vijay, booked the truck driver under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC read with Sections 134, 177 of Motor Vehicles Act and searching for him.
