Man booked for threatening to kill middle-aged woman and setting ablaze her house

Nagpur News : Ajni police booked a middle-aged man for attempting to kill a woman and later setting ablaze her house on Wednesday. Sources said, complainant Shobha Lalbahadur Vishwakarma (36), a resident of Smriti layout, Ratan Nagar, was having her meals with her children. Accused Naresh Bhimrao Meshram (35) was also having his meal with them.

An argument evoked between Shobha and Naresh over some trivial issue. Naresh who was drunk started using abusing language for Shobha. He threatened her to kill and injured her 16-year-old daughter. Shobha reached Ajni police station with her injured daughter and lodged a complaint against Naresh. Police sent the daughter to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, angered Naresh set ablaze her house and fled away. When police reached Shobha’s house, they discovered the fire. Fire was taken under control but materials worth Rs 50,000 was gutted in the fire. On the complaint of Shobha, Ajni police booked Naresh and registered an offence under Section 436, 427, 297, 323, 506 (b) of the IPC. Further investigations are under way.
