Man booked for extortion bid at knife point

Nandanvan police have booked a person on the charges of extortion bid at the point of knife and also threatening to kill a realtor if he refused to meet his demand.

According to police, the complainant Bhojraj Hanuman Thawkar (34), resident of Plot No. 24, Kirti Nagar, Narsala Road, Nagpur, was sitting in his office Jaidurga Housing Agency, located near Sanjivani Hospital, Telephone Nagar. At about 1915 hours on Friday, September 5, the accused Rahul Kulliwar barged into Bhojraj’s office and demanded Rs 50,000 as extortion money. The accused also whipped out a sharp-edged knife and threatened to kill Bhojraj if he did not hand over the extortion money and if the matter is reported to police. However, Bhojraj refused to meet the accused Rahul Kulliwar’s demand and reported the matter to police.

Nandanvan PSI has registered an offence against accused under Sections 452, 387 of the IPC and probing the matter further.
