Nagpur News: A man has been booked for abetting his wife to commit suicide over dowry issue. According to Jaripatka police, the complainant Meena Ajay Sharma (44), a resident of Kailash Vairagadh Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh had married her daughter Arpita with accused Bharat Tulsiram Abhichandani (27), a resident of Ahuja Nagar, Jaripatka in 2010. According to the complaint, Bharat used to torture Arpita mentally and physically as well for dowry. Bharat frequently showed his “frustration” by telling Arpita that her mother did not give any thing in the marriage and then resorted to torture Arpita mentally and physically. When the situation became intolerable the depressed Arpita decided to take the extreme step by hanging herself to the hook of the ceiling fan with the help of “odhni” on April 24. Arpita’s mother lodged a complaint with Jaripatka Police Station against Bharat and in turn the police booked Bharat under sections 498A and 306 of Indian Pole Code and are investigating the matter.
