Pune: Ending days of suspense, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Class XII results to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will be announced on Wednesday.

Authorities said the results will be officially declared by 11 a.m., but students can access their results after 1 p.m. by logging on to the official website, http://mahresult.nic.in/.

Students can view their results by entering their hall ticket number, followed by other details, and can download a copy of the mark sheet. Other websites to access the results are www.result.mkcl.org and www.maharashtraeducati on.com

Additionally, candidates can view results via SMS. Those using mobile operators like Idea, Vodafone, Reliance, Tata, and BSNL can send their seat numbers to 57766 or 58888111.

The process of re-totalling and obtaining photocopies of the answer sheet will begin on May 31. All forms will be available on the official website of the MSBSHSE.

For re-totalling of marks, students can submit their forms between May 31 and June 9.

This year, 14.85 lakh students — more than 8 lakh boys and 6.5 lakh girls — appeared for the HSC exams held between February 21 and March 20 across nine divisions in Maharashtra.

The board has kept thousands of students on tenterhooks owing to the delay in announcing the results at a time when most other State and Central boards, including the Central Board of Secondary Education, have declared their results.

Since last week, there had been confusion over the precise date of announcement of the results, with rumours flying thick and fast on social media groups and WhatsApp.

Last year, the Maharashtra Class XII results were declared on May 25, with 89.50% of the students clearing the examinations.
