
Nagpur: Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited’s construction work under Phase II of the Metro Rail Project is progressing at a fast pace across Kamptee, Wardha, Hingna and Bhandara highways.
On Mahamarg Reach-1A between Khapri and Butibori, pier construction of 188 out of 612, about 30.71 per cent, has been completed, while construction work has commenced at 9 out of 10 metro stations. At the at-grade Eco Park and National Cancer Hospital metro stations, foundation, first and second floor and roof slab works have been completed, and pre-engineered building (PEB) work is currently in progress.
On the Ashokvan to Butibori stretch, construction of 8 metro stations is underway. On this route, 48 out of 590 girder spans, accounting for 8.13 per cent, have been completed, while work on 2 out of 3 steel bridges is also in progress. Phase II of the Nagpur Metro project covers a total route length of 43.8 km with 32 metro stations, aimed at extending connectivity to suburban areas.
The Khapri to MIDC ESR corridor spanning18.5km with 10 stations includes proposed stations at Eco Park, National Cancer Hospital, Ashokvan, Dongargaon, Moghav, Meghdoot CIDCO, Butibori Police Station, MHADA Colony, MIDC KEC and MIDC ESR.
