Madras University commences its Master of Law (M.L) admissions 2015

The University of Madras has released an admission notification, inviting interested and eligible candidates to enrol for its Master of Law (M.L) programme through English medium only, in the Department of Legal Studies. Compulsory P.C.P (Personal contact programme) classes will be conducted every year for a period of 10 days only at Chennai.
The M.L degree is offered in the following branches under private study:

Br-I – International Law and Constitutional Law
Br-III Criminal Law
Br-V- Intellectual Property Law
Br-VI- Human Rights and Environmental Law
Br-VII- Labour and Administrative Law

Eligibility criteria

Educational qualification:

The candidates applying for this course, should have passed 3 years B.L/ L.L.B., or 5 years BL/ L.L.B. from a recognised university under regular pattern of study i.e.(10 plus 2 plus 3 plus 3) or (11 plus 1 plus 3 plus 3) or (10 plus 2 plus 5) are eligible to apply.

Eligibility for award of Degree :

A candidate should complete the degree within five years from the academic year in which he /she registers for the course. The candidate should each year attend the compulsory ten days personal contact programme classes. Only then he/she will be eligible for the I & II year examinations respectively.

Selection procedure

The candidates whose registration have been approved shall apply for the M.L. degree examination in the prescribed form together with the prescribed examination fee and be eligible to appear in the immediately following June examination for the first year papers and after a lapse of one year for the second year papers .
