LS polls: Five candidates in Nagpur, Ramtek withdraw nominations on last day

Nagpur: Five candidates in Nagpur and Ramtek constituencies withdrew their nomination for Lok Sabha elections on the last day of withdrawal of nominations on Thursday, March 28.

In Nagpur, Ravikant Shankar Meshram (Bahujan Mukti Party) and Abdul Karim Abdul Gaffar Patel (MIM) withdrew their nominations from the fray.

Ranjit Halke Safelkar (Independent), Prakash Tembhurne (Independent) and Lalit Shyamkuwar (Bahujan Mukti Party) are the candidates who withdrew their nominations in Ramtek.

Both Nagpur and Ramtek constituencies go to polls in the first phase on April 11. Scrutiny of papers took place on Tuesday, March 26. BJP’s Nitin Gadkari and Nana Patole of Congress are among the prominent candidates in the fray for Nagpur seat. Kishore Gajbhiye of Congress and Shiv Sena’s Krupal Tumane are rivals of each other in Ramtek.
