Nagpur: While addressing the audience on Mahavir Jayanthi, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis said that Lord Mahavir was one of the greatest environmentalists. In order to find ways and means to safeguard environment, he had toured the length and breadth of India for 42 years.
His teachings to the society at large should be adopted by all Indians said Chief Minister Fadnavis.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis was addressing a meeting organized by Shri Jain Sewa Mandal at Chitnis Park on April 19, 2016.
The guests including Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, MP Ajay Sancheti, MLA Krishna Khopde, MLA Vikas Kumbhare, MLC Girish Vyas, Municipal Commisoner Shravan Hardikar were seated on the dais.
CM Fadnavis said that their government had brought about the law to prevent cow slaughter. He added that the government has also initiated the organizing of Mangi Tungi Mahotsav at Nashik District. Both the programmes, has sent a positive message to the masses.
The Jain Community is a rising community. The members of the Jain community contribute a significant financial transaction to the nation. They have also played an important role in the development of the trade and business in the country. This is one reason why the government is supporting the Jain Community.
Earlier, the Chief Minister hoisted the flag and lit the traditional lamp. The office-bearers of Shri Jain Sewa Mandal felicitated the Chief Minister with a Shawl, Shreefal and a Pagdi (turban).
The inaugural speech was delivered by the President of Shri Jain Sewa Mandal Noted businessman Manish Mehta. Mehta lauded the initiative of the government for bringing about the ban on Cow slaughter. He also said that Shri Jain Sewa Mandal is the single and parent organization which has as many as 85 smaller allied organizations. The members of these Shri Jain Sewa Mandal is around 65,000.
On this occasion Muniraj Pasmarathi Vijay M S, Suparshwasagar, M S Gunanandi were present to bless the devotees. The programme was conducted by Satish Pendhari.
Dilip Gandhi, Vijay Udapurkar, Sharad Machale, Deepak Shendekar, Sanjay Takalmore, Pankaj Bohara, Dr Kamal Pugalia, Ravindra Akhrekar, Yogendra Shah, Jitendra Torawat, Devendra Agrekar, Sanjay Netaji and Jaiprakash Gupta were present on the occasion.
