: The London-New Delhi flight of Virgin Airlines made an emergency landing at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Nagpur International Airport on January 7, 2017. All the passengers are said to be accommodated in three different hotels in the city including Le-Meridian, Hotel Pride and Tuli Imperial.

The cause of this emergency landing is said to have been made because of dense fog and poor visibility at New Delhi Airport. Visibility is said to be below 50 metres while the temperature is said to be 13 degrees Celsius at Delhi airport. Many Airlines reportedly have been warned of further delays. Operations have also been affected in other north Indian cities. More than 200 flights were affected by weather and other reasons on January 6, 2017. At around 8:30 am on January 7, 2017, the temperature was said to be 13 degrees Celsius and visibility below 50 metres, the airport’s website reported.

Many Airlines have warned passengers of more delays while disruptions were also reported in other airports in north India including Lucknow and Amritsar. Airport officials said over 100 flights were hit as dense fog engulfed the national capital early morning.
