Nagpur/Yavatmal: Even as the rainy season is set to wind up the erratic downpour still happens in Vidarbha region. In a similar weather pattern, sudden thunder and lightning claimed six lives and injured seven in different parts of the district on Thursday. There was heavy rain in many parts of the district followed by thunder and lightning.
Of the six persons who were killed, two are from Ralegaon, three from Kalamb and one from Darwha tehsils.
The deceased are Sukhubai Yeduku Aasole (60), Manjula Chandrabhan Raut (65), Chanda Shankarrao Ramgade (55), Tejashvini Shankarao Ramgade (23), Madhukar Purushottam Kumre (25), and Harmet Shreekrishana Warkade (22).
