Nagpur: In order to achieve the target, Local Body Tax (LBT) department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation has speed-up the tax collection drive. Under that drive the department raided the Ram Coolers shop situated in Mahal area on Monday.
The dealer of the raided shop specialises in sale of coolers and cupboards. In 2013-14 the dealer bought the material of 1.72 crore but only 1.46 lakh has been deposited by the trader in NMC.
It was reported that the trader has been asked to pay the LBT of 6.88 lakh and the trader has also not filed the return till date.
The raid was conducted under the leadership of assistant collector of LBT department Milind Meshram. During the raid invoices and records of sales was seized. LBT officer Venkatesh Jichkar, assistant officer Sanjay Dahikar, Jitendra Tomar and others were the part of the squad
