Local Body Tax department conducted search and seizure action at the establishment named M/s Comfort Corporation, Opposite Lendra Park, Ramdaspeth, Nagpur. The dealer is authorised distributor of Daikin Air-conditioners.
The dealer has made imports (purchases) worth Rs. 4.04 crores since inception of LBT i.e. from 1.4.2013 till date, as per which the LBT liability works out to about Rs. 16.00 lakhs. The dealer paid LBT of Rs. 91,670/- till date but has not filed the annual return for financial year 2013-2014. The Department seized purchase invoices and Sale – Purchase data from the dealer’s establishment. Department will verify the documents and data seized for fixing the actual LBT liability on the dealer.
Another search was conducted at the establishment named M/s Narmada Steel, Cement and Transport owned by Shri Shankar Laxmanprasad Gupta, resident of Marmada Kunj, Near Kuttewale Baba Ashram, Shantinagar, Nagpur; The dealer has obtained LBT registration in the month of December 2014 and deals in cement and construction material. As per the sale documents seized by the department; the dealer’s sale turnover since December 2014 to March 2015 is about Rs. 1.17 crores. The dealer has not paid any LBT.
Department will verify the documents and informations seized from both the above dealers and initiate further necessary actions as deem fit under the LBT rules.
The search and seizure actions were conducted by LBT Officers Venkat Jichkar and Yadav Jambhulkar; Asstt. LBT Officers Sanjay Dahikar, Narayan Wankhede, Sumer Gajbhiye, Sanjay Mendule and others. The operation was initiated under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner, Milind Meshram under the able guidance of Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar and Additional Dy. Mpl. Commissioner Pramod Bhusari.
