Laxminarayan Institute of Technology, the conducted college of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, arranged the Expert Lecture on the topic  “ Radar Level Technology and its Applications in the Process Industry” on  11th August 2014. The Expert Lecture was delivered by Shri Deepak Vyawahare member of “Board of Directors” of Inventive Engineering and Technology Pvt. Ltd. Pune. Mr. Vyawahare is the alumni of 1978 batch of LIT. He has got 30 years of experience in Process Industry and Process Control Instrumentation.

Explaining the developments in level measurement techniques from the mechanical to electro mechanical and now to the radar he has highlighted the need and importance of level measurement in industry. The level measurement goes a long way to monitor the Inventory management in process industry and 1 to 3 percent mistake leads to lakhs of Rupees losses in Industry. Not only monitory losses but also the hazards which may result in loss of Human life can be prevented. He has given the case studies of various process industries hazards which could have been prevented by use of radar technology. He has highlighted that the radar measurement instrument does not require calibration; its response is very quick, it can work satisfactorily in any kind of corrosive process environment, its life is 25 to 30 years with very minor or no maintenance . The students of Third Year and Final Year B.Tech. and the faculty members have attended the lecture.

After the lecture the engrossed question answer session followed in which students have asked various questions to which Shri Vyawahare answered and gave various industrial examples to substantiate the facts.

Prof. T.B. Chahande, was present on the dais.

Dr. M.K.N. Yenkie the Director In-charge LIT always motivates to conduct such programmes for the students well grooming.

Ms. Ankita Deshmukh, Mr. Rewanwar, Ms. Bherwani and other student volunteers took efforts to make this function successful. Ms. Priyanka Baghel conducted the function and Ms. Shrushti Nakhate proposed the vote of Thanks.
