Lakhani re-elected MBA President for 4-year term

Nagpur: Arun Lakhani has been re-elected as President of Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA) for a four-year term. The election the MBA executive was held during the annual general Body meeting organised in city on Sunday, September 30. Total 29 office-bearers were elected on the new executive committee.

Talking to media persons, Lakhani said, “The MBA in the past 2-3 years, has organised several national and state-level tournaments. The Senior National Badminton Championship organised in Nagpur in November 2017 was a tremendous success. The tournament drew accolades not only from the internationally reputed players but also from thousands of spectators. Ace coach P Gopichand had also graced the event,” he said.

Lakhani further said the MBA’s priority in the coming years will to develop the quality infrastructure and provide excellent coaching to the budding players. “Though the number of badminton courts on the rise in city but their utilisation is minimal. We will see how the available infrastructure is utilised in befitting manner. MBA is planning to conduct regular camps under the guidance of national and international coaches to bring out the best performance from the state players,” the MBA President said.
