On May 20,2014 when a oil and sugar merchant, Harish Rochiram Fulwani, 57, a resident of, Chhaprunagar, Society no. 1, Block no. 28/28/6, Garoba Maidan, police station Lakadganj, Nagpur, after closing his shop in Itwari area was going home with his son and was carrying cash of Rs twelve lakhs. The complainant and his son were riding Activa scooter, when at Chhaprunagar square, near Bondre Hospital accused Hariom s/o Raghuvir Shyakya, 32, a resident of of Murraina district, MP along with his two associates knocked the Activa, complainant was riding. They instantly threw chilli powder on the complainant and his son and snatched a bag containing Rs twelve lakhs kept on front rest of Activa and sped away. The complainant and his son chased them but the accused warned them by firing from a small gun and ordered them not to proceed any further.
At the time, a Charlie constable from Garoba Maindan area with help of some residents caught hold of the accused. A country made pistol, a live cartridge was seized from him.
In the action, accused Asif Khan s/o Shakur Khan, 27, a resident of, Gohad Bazar, district Bhind, MP, at present residing at Saoner, is a chat vendor. For purchasing oil he often used to come to the shop of complainant. Asif Khan planned the robbery and called his associates, Raghuvir Shyakya and Goldie Tomar to Nagpur. All of them reached Nagpur on May 17, 2014. They rested at Tajbaugh Dargah at night. Asif Khan took motorcycle of Naresh Harprasad Dohre and his own motorcycle, Discover. Thus Asif Khan provided motorcycle for safe movement of his associates. He also showed his associates the shop of the complainant. Thus Asif Khan planned and executed the scheme of robbery.
Police sub-inspector, Bhedodkar, DB squad personnel, Sanjay Kotangale, Pravin Ganar, Sunil Wankhede, Ronald Anthony immediately left for MP in search of absconding accused. Due to active participation of Cyber Cell of Nagpur police the accused could be arrested. Asif Khan was arrested at Shivani Dhaba, Naresh Dohare from village Lad, district Bhind. Accused Goldie Tomar is still absconding. Police have recovered Rs 2, 04,800/ from them. The arrested accused are going to be produced before court for getting their police custody on May 25.
The action was carried out under the guidance of deputy commissioner of police, Meena and assistant commissioner of police, Kumre, S K Jaiswal, senior police inspector, Lakadganj police station by junior officers.
