Nagpur News: The jam packed courtroom on 3rd October witnessed a high of emotions as everyone including Lawyers and security personnel recalled the barbaric murder of Kush on October 11, 2011. When Special Public Prosecutor Ujwal Nikam requested Chhaya Kataria, Kush’s mother to identify clothes worn by Kush, she could not hold back and broke down in tears looking at the Red coloured T-shirt and blue coloured half pants. Kush’s body was found three days after he was kidnapped, in a water tank. The murder trial commenced before District and Sessions Judge G J Atkare. The prosecution examined Chhaya and Prashant Kataria the parents of Kush and prime accused Ayush Pugalia and recalled the last four hours of Kush before he was taken by Ayush. The third prosecution witness Sheikh Shahid, owner of general stores, confirmed that Ayush had been to his shop and successively called 5 to 6 times from a coin-box phone that was installed there. Barring minor contradictions and omissions, nothing could be extracted by the defence. On Thursday, the prosecution is expected to examine two child witnesses who saw Kush alive for the last time before Ayush sped away with Kush on an Activa.
