Nagpur:
The newly appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner of NMC Ravindra Kumbhare on Friday reviewed the working of different departments and sought feedback of heads of departments.

Kumbhare, who is on a second stint in the local body, took rounds of almost all the departments and interacted with employees and officials on the working. He also held discussions with office-bearers including Deputy Mayor Satish Holay. Kumbhare, who has been assigned all the responsibilities that were being looked after by former Additional Municipal Commissioner Nayana Gunde, was accompanied by Chief Fire Officer Rajendra Uchke and Property Tax HoD Milind Meshram during the rounds of departments. After reviewing the working of all departments, Kumbhare issued necessary directives to fine tune the working and leave no chance to action.

On June 28, Ravindra Kumbhare, earlier the Resident Deputy Collector, was transferred to Nagpur Municipal Corporation as Additional Municipal Commissioner. It is the second stint of Kumbhare in NMC. A “friend” of media, Ravindra Kumbhare is said to be a close relative of NMC’s Satranjipura Zone Chairman Praveen Bhisikar.

The move to shift Kumbhare to NMC on the part of ruling party assumes importance as the next elections of NMC are round the corner. In what way the official would be helpful to the ruling dispensation is subject of political debate.
