Nagpur:
Kotwali police, in a swift action, arrested two miscreants who had stolen Rs 4.71 lakh cash belonging to their employer. Cops recovered the entire amount from their possession within hours of crime.

Vishnu Dhanraj Advani (54), resident of Badkas Square, Chitar Oli, Mahal, in his complaint to Kotwali police said that he runs a bar and restaurant and a petrol pump. An amount of Rs 4.71 lakh was collected from the sale at both the establishments.

However, the two accused, car driver Sunil Dnyaneshwar Pawar (39), residing behind Ganeshpeth Police Station and Pankaj Ramchandra Shamkuwar (47) of Rameshwari Bhagwan Nagar, kept the cash with themselves instead of handing it over to Vishnu Advani. After stealing the cash, both the accused went absconding. Cops, after registering a case under Sections 381, 34 of the IPC, mounted a search to apprehend the accused.

During the probe, cops received information that one of the accused Sunil Pawar was spotted in his residential area. Acting swiftly, the police trailed him and succeeded in arresting Sunil. An amount of Rs 2.36 lakh was recovered from him. Further interrogation of Sunil led the cops to know whereabouts of another accused Pankaj Shamkuwar. He too was netted within no time and cash of Rs 2.35 lakh was recovered from him. The entire stolen amount of Rs 4.71 lakh was recovered from both the accused.

The task was accomplished by PSI Yuvraj Sahare, constable Vinayak Astkar, sepoys Nishant Karade and Chhatrapal Chaudhary under the guidance of DCP Zone 3, ACP Kotwali and PI Khushal Tijare.
