Nagpur: A Kanhan-based Congress leader has levelled serious allegations against Police Inspector Vilas Vandile of implicating him in false cases and also doling out life threats. The Congress leader Rajesh Yadav said that he incurred the wrath of the police officer for just enquiring, in his capacity as Councillor, about the brawl in which two youths were involved.

In a press release, Yadav said that the two youths, Nimbone and Khandare, indulged in a quarrel on 1.9.2016 and subsequently were booked by Kanhan cops. “On September 2 around 11.30 am, I was present at Kanhan River premises for review of a beautification project in the capacity as a Councillor. Also the Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule was to visit the spot. The Police Inspector Vilas Vandile was standing at a corner and I casually asked him about the case details of the two youths. I also asked the Police Inspector not to slap cases against the two youths over the petty matter that too without detailed investigation,” Yadav stated.

“However, even before I could complete my discussion, the Police Inspector in a threatening posture started abusing me and also issued life threats for interfering in the case. Vandile warned me that I will be implicated in false cases and sent to jail. The police oofficer further said that he (Vandile) was man of Bawankule and he has been posted in Kanhan to annihilate Congress and Congressmen,” Yadav says in the press release.

The “scared” Yadav has demanded immediate suspension of Police Inspector Vilas Vandile for his high-handed act. He has also forwarded the copies of his letter to Commissioner of Police, Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Nagpur Rural).
