Nagpur: Kanak Resource Company has been working for last 9 years for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Health Department. As per the rule it has been even giving the minimum wages to the employees but the tragedy is all the employees are getting the same salary. There is no differentiation, the mechanic gets the same salary as the garbage collector.
The workers are now demanding their outstanding arrears. They have alleged that a company like Kanak does financial dealing looking at the faces. This company has not made basic arrangement for the workers who collect the garbage. Due to this they have to face many problems.
Some of these workers also have alleged that Kanak management is pressurizing them to lift heavy materials and focuses on transport instead of carrying waste to Bhandewadi. because NMC pays Kanak according to weight.
The workers have demanded strict action against Kanak management and their outstanding arrears for several months be given immediately. If their demands are not met, they would launch an agitation and the work would come to standstill.
