Kalamna Police arrest three for stealing 700 kgs of Toor Dal from mill in Nagpur

Nagpur: As the price hike of essential food items has affected household budgets across the country, Kalamna Police have arrested three miscreants who broke into a mill and stole 700 kgs of Toor Dal, police said on Saturday.

According to the complainant, Mukesh Maujibhai Shah, 42, a resident of Flat No. 17, Hiwari Layout, owns a mill in Eastern Industries Area, Bharat Nagar. Between May 18 and May 19, some miscreants reportedly broke into the mill and decamped with 700 kgs of Toor Dal worth Rs 1.19 lakh.

Following this, Shah filed a complaint with Kalamna Police.

After a technical investigation and scanning of CCTV footage, the police traced three accused identified as Bhagwat alias Guddu Munna Ray (32) and Ramlakhan Ramskha Khelwar (45), all residents of Pardi. The trio confessed to the crime, and the police also recovered 365 kgs of Toor Dal and seized an Ashok Leyland truck worth Rs 7 lakh used in the theft.

The squad of Kalamna Police, led by Gokul Mahajan, API Ujwal Ingole, PSI Ramlod, PSI Mutkure, Police Constable Ankalwar, Bhaisare, and Police Amaldars Desai and Dangle, made the arrest.
