According to police sources, the complainant owns a warehouse named Lakhotia Sales Corporation located near the Dipti Signal railway crossing. On April 25, the complainant had stored around Rs 9.55 lakh cash accumulated over four days in a drawer of a wooden office table before locking the premises.

However, when the warehouse was reopened on April 27, the cash was found missing, prompting a complaint with the police.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the accused had gained entry by removing a tin sheet from the upper wall near the office cabin and breaking in through the roof. Acting on this, police launched a detailed probe, scanning footage from 10 to 15 CCTV cameras in the vicinity, which helped identify the suspects.

Subsequently, police apprehended the accused and recovered Rs 5,04,960 in cash from his possession. Additionally, a ‘Passion Plus’ motorcycle (MH-40-K-9990), used in the commission of the crime and valued at around Rs 50,000, was also seized. The total value of recovered property stands at approximately Rs 5.54 lakh.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Pravin Kale. The investigation team included PSI Santoshkumar Ramlod, Head Constables Ravikumar Sahu and Pradeep Pawar, and Constables Mangesh Lohi, Santosh Pandey, Anil Jadhav, and Praful Gohokar.

Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
