Nagpur: A day after Nagpur Today exposed the dark and gory nexus between some journalists and youth wing leaders of a political outfit in city to extract financial gains from the traders, the latter joined hands to vehemently thwart any such ‘unwanted’ move.

President of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce Prakash Mehadia said that if any trader approaches the Chamber and reports of any wrong doing by any official in any official capacity misusing his powers to harass or fleece money from the traders, then the chamber will take the only recourse available to them – to approach the police top-brass or the courts for justice.

Honorary Secretary of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce Jaiprakash Parekh told Nagpur Today that they will take action only when the trader approaches them and lodges a complaint of having paid extortion money to unscrupulous elements. He said that NVCC decries extortion of any kind paid by anyone be it done by a trader. Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce has and will always stand by the traders. Jaiprakash Parekh added that if anyone (whosoever it may be) makes any unjustified demand like extortion with some knowledge of the trader or his business, if the trader approaches us, we’ll definitely take up the issue and will request action from appropriate authorities like Police, Collector, Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly to redress our problems.

We don’t commit such acts, clarifies MNS

While speaking exclusively with Nagpur Today, Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena’s office-bearer Kapil Aware said that MNS or its office-bearers will never resort to such acts. If and when they come to know of any such acts, severe action will be taken by the party high command.
