Jolt to BJP as Prahar’s Vaishali Nahate wins President’s post in Pandharkawda Mpl Council poll

Nagpur: In a one-sided results, Prahar Sanghatana scored a sterling victory in the Pandharkawda Municipal Council elections.

Prahar’s Vaishali Nahate was elected President giving a jolt to BJP as the Pandharkawda Municipal Council comes under the constituency of Union Minister Hansraj Ahir. Prahar Sanghatana won 14 seats out of 19 seats elections for which were held on Wednesday. The poll had recorded 72.85 percent voting. Out of 23463 voters, 16,992 voters had exercised their franchise. In the four-cornered election, six candidates were in fray for President’s post while 88 candidates tried their luck for 19 seats of Councillors. Counting of votes began at 10 am today.

BJP licked the dust in the poll as it could win only 3 seats. Shiv Sena won 1 seat and Congress 1. Congress was ruling the Pandharkawda Municipal Council till to date. But the Prahar Sanghatana not only snatched power from the Congress, it drubbed the other parties including BJP and Shiv Sena. The drubbing came as a severe jolt to BJP as Pandharkawda Municipal Council comes under constituency of Union Minister Hansraj Ahir.
