Joint CP Saxena, DCP Meena, other IPS brass shifted out of city, Anup Singh to be new Jt CP

Nagpur News: The high-profile Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjay Saxena has finally been transferred. Now, he will head the elite Force One in Mumbai in the same rank. Saxena will be replaced by Anup Kumar Singh who is presently Special IG (Anti-Naxal Operation). Saxena had a long stint in Nagpur and his transfer was overdue. Similarly, DCP (Zone-4) Chandrakishore Meena has been shifted and will be posted in Akola as Superintendent of Police (SP). Likewise, DCP Sanjay Darade (Zone-3) and DCP Ramnath Pokle (Special Branch) have been shunted out of Nagpur and posted in Yavatmal and Washim as Superintendents of Police. SP (Washim) Nirmala Devi and DCP (Amravati) Sanjay Latkar will come to Nagpur as Deputy Commissioners of Police.

The much awaited IPS transfers have been effected by State Government in a major way. A total of 90 police officers including 60 Indian Police Service and 20 State Police Service (SPS) have been transferred across Maharashtra.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) has been appointed as DCP, Anti-Corruption Bureau in city. Pournima Gaekwad, DCP (SID Nagpur) has been shifted to Mumbai as SP (Crime Branch). Similarly, SP (Gondia) Dr Dilip Zalke will take over as Commandant, State Reserve Police Force (Group IV).

These transfers will come into effect before August 5 as the officials have to attend DGP’s conference to be held on Tuesday.
