#JNURow: Cornered by Delhi HC stand, Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya surrender to Delhi Police

umar-khalid-anirban-bhattacharyaNewDelhi/Nagpur: In a dramatic late night development, Delhi Police arrested Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya after the two left the JNU campus and surrendered.

The cops then drove around for almost 10km in an effort to dodge the media before taking the students to South Campus police station, where they were to be held overnight before being produced in court today .

The two students, accompanied by their lawyer, appeared at the administration block and were taken out of JNU shortly before they were arrested.

Earlier, Delhi HC rejected their plea that they be allowed to surrender before it in the campus from the back gate in a car by JNU security guards. Students then formed a human chain to prevent the media from following them.
