Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a jilted man tried to kill two children of a woman who was his ex-lover before marriage and later attempted to end his life by slashing throat with a razor blade. The bizarre incident took place in Mankapur area here on Wednesday evening. The kids and the accused man have been admitted to Mayo Hospital where their condition is stable.
The accused has been identified as Vilas Bhujade (30), resident of Zingabai Takli. It is alleged that Vilas was in “love” with the 27-year old Vijaya Bakode (name changed), resident of Mankapur area, before marriage. Vijaya used to stay in the area as tenant of Kausalya Shende (name changed) since five years. Her husband Dilip works as mali (gardener) and has a 5-year old son Kishore and two and half year daughter Nalini.
On Wednesday around 6 pm, the accused Vilas Bhujade, a carpenter by profession, arrived at Vijaya’s house under the influence of liquor and picked up a quarrel with her. He shouted and claimed that the kids are his borne out of the relations he had with her before the marriage. Later, with nefarious designs in his mind, the accused Vilas lured the two kids with chocolate and took them to terrace. But instead of giving them the chocolate, the accused whipped out a razor blade and attacked the kids and inflicted deep injuries on their necks or throats with the intention of killing them. Later, he attempted to end his own life by slashing his throat with the razor blade. Hearing the shrill cries of the kids, Vijaya and others rushed to the terrace and found the children and the accused Vilas soaked in blood. All the three were taken to Mayo and admitted there. The condition of the kids and the accused is reportedly stable.
Upon being informed, a team of Mankapur police reached the spot and started investigation.
