New Delhi/Nagpur:
Indian boxers don’t run the risk of disqualification from Rio Olympic; kit problems sorted out, says coach Gurbax Singh Sandhu.

The International Boxing Association (AIBA) pulls up Indian boxers for not having ‘India’ written on their jerseys.

Indian boxers Vikas Krishan, Manoj Kumar and Shiva Thapa now face a risk of being disqualified at the Rio Olympics, reports.

It is a statutory requirement in Olympics to have the name of the country the sportsperson is representing to be emblazoned on the blazer. Indian boxer Shiva Thapa has a bout at 11am Brazilian time and he will not be allowed to fight without the name of country at the back of his jersey.

This was informed to him after Manoj Kumar turned up for his bout, that “no Indian boxer will be allowed after this’.
