Interviews for new VC of RTMNU held at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industry

Nagpur: The interview for the post of vice-chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University took place at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industry on Saturday. A three member team interviewed the candidates till 5.30 pm but it was not known who were interviewed.

The names of the candidates were kept confidential. The interview was conducted in a closely guarded manner. The three member panel headed by former Justice Vikas Sirpurkar was formed to interview. Other members of the panel included principal secretary Pankaj Chahande, Prafulkumar Kale of Mahatma Gandhi Institute. The panel interviewed 10 out of 18 candidates. The rest of the candidates will be interviewed on Sunday.

Sources said that utmost care was taken not to leak the names of the candidates. It is learnt that principal Pramod Yeole of Wardha Pharmacy College, Borgaon Meghe; Durgesh Mishra of Ballarpur, Dinesh Dekate, K M Roy from Amravati, N V Kalyankar, Satish Tote, Omkar Amte, S P Kane, Fulekar, Tale among others had reached the institute but it is not known how many of them appeared for the interview.
What is the reason for maintaining such a secrecy regarding the interview? It has become a talking point in the city.
